about

architectural guides

Our job is to guide our clients and offer our expertise so they get the home they have imagined. At The House Concept, we streamline the design and consent process, and make building and renovating more time efficient and cost effective by using good people and robust systems. Our main focus is to make the client journey an enjoyable one.

Blair Moray-Cook

director

Blair has nearly 20 years’ experience as an architectural designer working in Auckland, London and Melbourne. Blair and Anna moved to Point Wells from Auckland in 2015 and love the lifestyle. Although he’s always busy with their three young children, Blair is still passionate about surfing and is a self-confessed addict of bush craft videos on YouTube.

Logan Price

architectural designer

Gaining experience in both residential and commercial architecture, Logan has worked in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. An LBP architectural designer, Logan came to The House Concept from Warren and Mahoney Architects in Auckland where he had worked extensively on the Commercial Bay Development in downtown Auckland: a 39-level office tower with three levels of retail. Logan has a passion for residential design and construction, and he really enjoys meeting clients on site and helping them turn their ideas into reality. If you call us about building or renovating your home on the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore or greater Auckland, Logan will be your point of contact for your concept plans.

Logan lives at Narrowneck Beach in Devonport with his wife Sarah and son Bodhi. He likes to be outside as much as possible and enjoys surfing, boating and mountain biking.

Marsha Valenta

architect

Passionate about designing and building sustainably, Marsha is a Green Star Accredited Assessor. Green Star NZ is an environmental rating system for healthy, less polluting green building practices. She is also a qualified interior designer and often incorporates her love of travel and exploring other countries and cultures in her design work.

Marsha used to be a snowboard instructor and loves to snorkel but admits to an irrational fear of sharks, which can be somewhat limiting. Fascinated by food cultures from around the world, she is always happy to throw herself into a cooking challenge, or any challenge for that matter, especially without any preparation.

Mark Sweeney

architectural designer

Mark comes to The House Concept with a background in furniture design and steel fabrication. Even though he now accepts he is probably a little old for such things, Mark still tries to enjoy skateboarding. Fortunately for those he lives with, he has at least given up playing the drums.

Josh Edington-Lalande

architectural designer

A very handy bloke to have on your team, Josh is a maker of things. Be it furniture, sculptures, houses or boats, he likes to be hands-on. Before retraining as an architectural designer, Josh worked as builder, so has an in-depth understanding of the renovation and building process.

Josh brings 12 years of commercial interior and architecture experience and 9 years of residential architecture experience to The House Concept. When not creating stuff, you’ll find him on the water; he is a dedicated surfer and sailor.

Alex Schwab

architectural designer

Very creative, Alex says he “enjoys taking his camera for a walk”, has designed and sewn a collection of ultralight wallets and is fully bi-lingual, having grown up speaking German and English. He also dreams of being a food critic one day. This is in spite of the fact that he’ll eat chilli with every meal.

Not one to sit still for long, Alex has raced 1,000 miles across India in a rickshaw dressed as a lifeguard, travelled from Japan to Europe without using a plane and is forever attempting to perfect the art of a one-handed down-the-line backhand in tennis.

Anna Moray-Cook

project coordinator

Anna practised law for a number of years before moving into human resources, specialising in employment relations. In 2015, she had their first baby and then she and Blair moved to Point Wells. Anna really loves living in a smaller community and being able to raise the children so close to the beach.

When she is not busy with Ollie (6), Beau (4) and Lottie (2), Anna does a bit of everything at The House Concept. From looking after the accounts and administration tasks to everything employee related, she is often also the first point of contact for clients when they reach out.
